Audrey Ann (Snyder, Hofbauer) Collis, age 78, of Hazel Green, WI, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 1, 2025, at MercyOne/Dubuque Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, IL. Family Burial will be in East Dubuque Cemetery.
Audrey was born on June 20, 1947, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Marvets) Snyder. She graduated from Waterloo East High School and later attended Loras College in Dubuque, IA.
Audrey was united in marriage to the lover of her life, Clarence Collis, December 3, 1988. They lived a life of adventure, fun and laughter, until his passing on October 17, 2012. She worked for and eventually retired from the Iowa Department of Human Services after 20 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, photography, crafting, and playing cards with family. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could teaching her grandchildren to fish, bake, craft and sticking out their tongue whenever someone wanted to take a picture. Audrey loved her grandchildren beyond your wildest dreams.
Surviving are her daughters, Rocksand Pickard, of Waterloo, IA, and Lorraine (Richard) Kress, of Farley, IA; brothers, Don (Patricia) Snyder, of MO, Gary (Dorothy) Snyder, of Mitchellville, IA; sisters, Wanda (Danny) McKee and Shirley (Timothy) Schell, all of Waterloo, IA, Phyllis Eichmeyer, of MO; 6-grandchildren, Dustin Pickard, Randi (Matt) McDonald, Samantha (Scott) Salvas, Derrick (Kendra) Schwindt-Collis, Chad (Tanya) Kress and Nicole (Travis) Hunt; four great grandchildren and five great-great.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; father-in-law and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Lucille Collis, of Hazel Green, WI; siblings, Ginger (Gary) Chilcote and Lary (Connie) Snyder; brother-in-law, Timothy (Shirley) Schell; and a niece; Ruth Anne Schell; and half-brother, David Snyder,
