Arthur W. "Art" Imbus, 78, of Menominee, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Stonehill Care Center, in Dubuque, IA, surrounded by his wife and family
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A/M, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, in Menominee, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, in Dubuque, IA, with military honors accorded by members of the East Dubuque American Legion Post #787.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish scripture service will be held at 3:30 P/M. Visitation will also be from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Nativity BVM Church.
Members of American Legion Post #787 will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 P/M, on Wednesday.
Art was born on March 3, 1940, near Menominee, the son of Henry and Mary (Vogt) Imbus. He was united in marriage to Diane Weed on September 20, 1975, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Dubuque. Art served in the Army in the Panama Canal Zone.
He was employed at St. Regis Paper Company, Georgia Pacific, and later Colorbox, from where he retired after (35) years of service. Art enjoyed a good game of Euchre and playing Euchre on the computer, trips to the Dog Track, listening to Elvis, and was currently Chaplain of the East Dubuque American Legion Post #787. He served for many years on the Funeral Honors detail. He was a member of Nativity BVM Parish and a former member of United Steel Workers Local #1861.
Surviving are his wife, Diane; his siblings, Mary Agnes Melssen, of Potosi, WI, Herb Imbus, of Menominee, IL, Bob (Marian) Imbus, of Luana, IA, Don (Rose) Imbus, of Menominee, IL, Doris (Bob) Watkins, of Springfield, MO, Jim (fiancee', Nancy Miller) Imbus, of Menominee, IL, Joyce (Pat) Powers, of Dubuque, IA, Dan (Linda) Imbus, of Menominee, IL, and Nancy Roepke, of East Dubuque, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary; and a brother, Gerald "Jerry" Imbus.
