Alvina H. (Haverland) Gerlich, 84, of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Luther Manor, in Dubuque, IA, surrounded by her loving family.
Private family visitation will be Thursday morning, February 16, 2017, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, in Kieler, WI, followed by a public Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A/M, on Thursday, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
Alvina was born on October 4, 1932, on the family farm near Louisburg, WI, the daughter of Albert E. and Cecelia T. (Kunkel) Haverland. She was united in marriage to Robert L. "Bob" Gerlich on June 20, 1956, at Kieler. Alvina met her future husband, Bob, at a dance at Melody Mill, in Dubuque, IA.
She was a homemaker, who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Alvina enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, playing cards, traveling, but a very important part of her life was the family fishing trips to Danbury, WI. She loved life and will be remembered for her laughter.
Surviving are her husband, Bob; six (6) children, Thomas (Linda) Gerlich, of Cuba City, WI, Karen (Steve) Giese, of Onalaska, WI, Judy (Tim) Miehe, of Holmen, WI, Peggy (Charlie) Ward, of Ryan, IA, Scott (Beth) Gerlich, of Danbury, WI, and Mark (Ann) Gerlich, of Solon Springs, WI; seventeen (17) grandchildren; six (6) great-grandchildren; two (2) sisters-in-law, Violet Haverland and Alverna Haverland.
