Alfred J. "Big Al" Haigh, 62, of Dubuque, IA, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Unity Point-Finley Hospital, Dubuque, IA.
Funeral Services will be at 10 A/M, on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, One Wesley Way, in East Dubuque, IL, with Pastor Kayla Lange officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, and from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Saturday, at the Church.
Al was born on October 2, 1952, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Fieldon and Dorothy (Hines) Haigh. He was united in marriage to Deborah "Deb" (DeVries) Donner on December 11, 2004.
Al was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School, Class of 1970. Al was employed as a truck driver for Hurst Logistics.
Al loved attending flea markets. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, time spent with family and friends, camping, hunting, fishing and he was very patriotic and loved his country. The 4th of July was his favorite holiday. He was one of the organizers of the annual game feed in Sherrill for 25 years which benefited Albrecht Acres, Hospice of Dubuque and the Sherrill Fire Department. Al was also a member of the Dubuque Tea Party.
Surviving are his wife, Deb; a daughter, Heather Breitbach (Canaan James), of Angier, NC; two (2) step-children, Rob (Laura) Donner, of Dubuque, IA, and Tisha Montgomery, of East Troy, WI; six (6) grandchildren, Taylor and Megan Francois, Mason, Isabella and Benjamin Donner and Zoe J. Hosier; his siblings, Robert (Catherine) Haigh, of Epworth, IA, Richard (Pat) Haigh, of Dubuque, IA, Jean Wilke, of Plover, WI, Joyce Morgan and Sandra Mason, both of Cedar Rapids, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Al's family expresses their deep "appreciation" to the Physicians, Nurses and Staff at the Unity Point-Finley Hospital for the excellent care given to "Big Al".
